Marine Broadcasts
ALASKA MARINE VHF VOICE

Alaska Marine VHF Broadcasts

The Alaska Region broadcasts offshore forecasts, nearshore forecasts and storm warnings on marine VHF channels in addition to NOAA Weather Radio. These forecasts are produced by Alaska National Weather Service Forecast Offices.

In Alaska, marine VHF is monitored during hours that NWS offices are open and personnel available. Mariners are STRONGLY encouraged to report current weather conditions in their operating area.

All NWS marine forecasts rely heavily on the Voluntary Observing Ship (VOS) program for obtaining meteorological observations.
