New Marine Weather Stations
The Marine Exchange of Alaska has installed a number of weather sensors around Alaska in support of an AOOS (Alaska Ocean Observing System) initiative to expand weather sensors and enhance the dissemination of weather data to mariners using the Alaska AIS (Automatic Identification System).
In Southeast Alaska, stations have been installed at:
- Tenakee Springs
- Portland Island
- Marmion Island
- Mary Island
- Icy Bay at Pt. Riou
The data can be accessed through our Observation Database page, or the National Data Buoy Center.
