The webpage accessing data from the Juneau Airport Wind System (JAWS) that was formerly hosted by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is now being maintained by the FAA and the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Juneau. The new webpage is located at http://pajk.arh.noaa.gov/jaws/jaws.php.
JAWS is a series of anemometers and wind profilers in the local Juneau area that were installed to enhance aviation safety. For more information on the locations and data provided, see this page.
The data is available near real-time with updates once a minute. Also available on the webpage is a desktop java applet that can be used to monitor and display the data in different formats.
