Satellite Information
by Vaughn S. Smith
How Satellites Work:
-
Radiative
Transfer: This first section will really help you get a good feel on
exactly how satellites see the earth.
-
Sounders:
This section is very good and will answer all your questions on the differences
between the sounders and the imagers.
-
Imagers:
This section is not too well organized but it does have a lot of very good
information on the imagers. This part of the tutorial focuses more on the
3.9 micron channel and all it is useful for.
-
Satellite
Derived Motion Field: This section will explain how satellite data
can be used to get such products as High density winds, Satellite Derived
soundings, Fog Products, and so much more that we have never had to look
at.
Satellite web sites of interest:
I hope this Satellite information
package is very useful in your everyday satellite needs. While you
are using this, remember, if you find something new or just had a question,
let me know and I hope I can answer your problem or find someone who can.
